USCi is seeking a Product Engineer to join a fast-paced, high tech company in the field of wide band-gap, power semiconductors. In addition to having the qualifications required for this position, the successful candidate must be a “doer” who can roll up his/her sleeves to get things done as well as be able to draw upon and operate within a high-performance team. Key activities will include product sustaining, cost reduction via yield improvements, product support for internal and external customers, new product qualifications and failure analysis while working with cross-functional global teams.

 

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • 5-10+ years of Product / Test / Microelectronics Engineering experience.
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, physics or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge on discrete semiconductor devices, manufacturing & test techniques, failure modes and end applications.
  • Strong statistics and data analysis background (JMP, other data analysis/statistics tools) with proficiency in applying SPC for continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on engineering skills, capable of test setup, and execution.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, detail-oriented, data-driven and organized.
  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Sustain and improve products and processes across all product families (Diodes, JFETs, MOSFETs …) while working with operations, quality, engineering, sales and customers. Improve and resolve design – process – product interactions
  • Drive Cost Reduction and maintain high quality product deliveries to customers by on-going yield analysis. Evaluate inline yield excursions and scrap events.
  • Perform data collection and characterization to determine failure mechanism(s) for in-line, reliability and field failures. Lead analysis to identify root causes and develop solutions to improve reliability.
  • Manage new product qualifications and release to manufacturing activities and data analysis.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), and control plans. Measure and improve Cpks (Process Capability) is a focus areas.
  • Establish and maintain products and their specifications and documentation including change qualification and component obsolescence resolution.
  • Provide technical guidance for sales and all design-in activities.
  • Perform competitive benchmarking, work with marketing and engineering to position competitive advantages and develop strategies to close any gaps.
