Dr. J. Christopher Dries, President and CEO
Chris oversaw the acquisition of USCi in 2009 and has served as President and CEO ever since. In addition to his capacity as CEO, Chris serves as a member of the Board of Directors and is an Investor in the Company. Chris has been an enthusiastic entrepreneur since completing his graduate studies. He helped build and sell Sensors Unlimited to Finisar Corporation, participated in the buy-back of the business and then subsequent sale to Goodrich Corporation in 2005 where he served as VP of Research and Development of the imaging business. Chris obtained his bachelor’s degree from Duke University and Ph.D. from Princeton University, both in Electrical Engineering.
Dr. Anup Bhalla – VP of Engineering
Anup oversees all product development at USCi and became an investor in the Company when he joined in 2012. Prior to joining USCi, Anup held various product development and marketing positions at Alpha and Omega Semiconductor where he was a co-founder of the Company. He is the author or co-author of nearly 100 patents through his career at Harris, Vishay Siliconix, AOS, and USCi. He received his bachelors’ degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and his Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, both in Electrical Engineering.
Betsy Cotton – Chief Financial Officer
Betsy is responsible for all financial operations at USCi and is also an investor in the Company. She has held finance positions at a number of public and privately held financial concerns, beginning her career at Bankers Trust Company, followed by Phillips Brothers. From there she became Vice President at Metallgesellschaft AG, MG Trade Finance, leading their largest transaction. At Stratum she focused on financing small to mid-sized oil and gas companies. Betsy obtained her B.A. from Tufts University and her MBA from Stanford University.
John Bendel – Sr. Director of Business Marketing
John is responsible for product line direction and new application development where he develops the business cases for products in USCi’s portfolio. John began his career at Lockheed Martin, and held progressively more senior roles at IXYS, and Fairchild Semiconductor where he was Senior Vice President of the low voltage product line. There he had full P&L responsibility of the lines including foundries. John received his B.S.E.E from the University of California, Davis.
Joel Morgan – Quality Manager
Joel is responsible for all aspects of Quality at USCi, including Product, Customer, Supplier, and Systems. Prior to USCi, Joel spent 15 years at RFMD in various Project Management and Quality roles. Joel began his career as a US Navy Submarine Officer and continues to serve as an officer in the US Navy Reserve. Joel received his B.S.E.E. from Auburn University.
Mari-Anne Gagliardi – VP of Operations
Mari-Anne is responsible for managing all aspects of Production and USCi’s supply chain. Previously, she was the director of operations at Goodrich Corp (Sensors Unlimited, Inc). She joined Sensors Unlimited, Inc. in 2000 as a manufacturing engineer, and rapidly rose to run operations at the company Ms. Gagliardi joined the USCI team in 2010 as Director of Operations. She has previous experience at Metorex in Finland, and Princeton GammaTech here in the United States. She obtained her bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Helsinki in Finland.
