EE Internship

United Silicon Carbide, Inc. is a developer and seller of leading edge semi-conductors. The company is growing rapidly and is offering summer internship opportunities for bright, curious and motivated EE students. Projects will familiarize the intern with Silicon Carbide-based power devices, their characteristics and applications, and advanced laboratory measurement techniques. Rising undergraduate Seniors or those enrolled in Masters programs are welcome to apply.

Internship activities may involve

Assisting Application Engineers with testing of the switching characteristics of UnitedSiC power switches.

Contributing to application notes that make it easier for users to extract the maximum efficiency benefit from these devices and avoid pitfalls.

Learning how loss calculations are performed for different applications and for correct device selection.

Performing efficiency and related testing for various application demos.

Performing specialized tests for SiC devices intended for DC breaker and current limiting applications.

Qualifications

Bachelor EE degree with relevant coursework in semiconductor devices, analog circuits, power electronics.

Laboratory experience with semiconductor parametric testers, EE labs, Oscilloscopes and function generators.

Proficiency with Labview/Matlab/JMP.
