United Silicon Carbide, Inc. ( is a developer and seller of leading edge semi-conductors.  The company is growing rapidly and is offering summer internship opportunities for bright, curious and motivated EE students.  Projects will familiarize the intern with Silicon Carbide-based power devices, their characteristics and applications, and advanced laboratory measurement techniques. Rising undergraduate Seniors or those enrolled in Masters programs are welcome to apply.

Internship activities may involve:

  • Assisting Application Engineers with testing of the switching characteristics of UnitedSiC power switches.
  • Contributing to application notes that make it easier for users to extract the maximum efficiency benefit from these devices and avoid pitfalls.
  • Learning how loss calculations are performed for different applications and for correct device selection.
  • Performing efficiency and related testing for various application demos.
  • Performing specialized tests for SiC devices intended for DC breaker and current limiting applications.


  • Bachelor EE degree with relevant coursework in semiconductor devices, analog circuits, power electronics
  • Laboratory experience with semiconductor parametric testers, EE labs, Oscilloscopes and function generators
  • Proficiency with Labview/Matlab/JMP
