Power Device and Circuit Engineer

UnitedSiC is a rapidly growing start-up company that develops Silicon Carbide based power devices. These devices are increasingly being adopted in EVs and Renewable energy systems. We are seeking a candidate with MS degree in the field of wide bandgap power electronics. The candidate needs to have relevant lab/bench experience, be a fast learner, able to work with moderate supervision and perform work carefully, safely and accurately. Able to communicate complex technical subjects clearly and concisely.


Familiarity and project experience with wide bandgap power device physics and power electronics, including device characterization, power converters, electric motors and control methods.

Previous experience with critical tools including MATLAB, PLECS, Solidworks, Altium, LTspice.

Knowledge of High Voltage (up to and above 5kV)  power electronics circuit operation, electronic components and PCB design.

Solid knowledge of basic lab equipment such oscilloscopes, function generators, parametric test equipment.

Familiarity of TI or Microchip microcontrollers.


Characterize semiconductor devices and modules, extracting relevant product datasheet and compact model parameters.

Use microcontrollers to implement power converters and inverters. Regular use and debugging of lab equipment such oscilloscopes, function generators, parametric test equipment.

Draft application notes based on our unique silicon carbide technology that make it easier for users to extract the maximum efficiency benefit from these devices and avoid pitfalls.

Works across multifunctional team of Device Engineers, Product Engineering and Applications Engineering, reports to Dir. of Technology Development.


Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, and demonstrable ability in the knowledge set described above.
