UnitedSiC is seeking a Quality Engineer to maintain and implement quality, reliability and compliance initiatives across engineering, production and the supply chain in support of the company’s objectives.

Own the incoming inspection process. This includes maintaining inspection records and associated documentation; monitoring quality metrics to identify and drive resolution of the issues with the help of suppliers and internal resources.
Initiate, track and drive to closure quality events including supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and eight-discipline (8Ds). Monitor the completion and implementation of corrective/preventative actions through follow up with internal and external resources.
Collaborate with the engineering teams to develop and execute reliability qualification strategies based on the product lifecycle requirements
Validate that customer requirements are translated into practical reliability test specifications
Drive for standardized methodologies and processes for increased effectiveness of qualification plans and the sample sizes used
Coordinate the Calibrations Program.
Maintain and monitor the product compliance programs. Demonstrate understanding of the various regulation requirements (e.g. conflict-mineral declarations, QMS certifications, ROHS and REACH) and work with internal and external resources to compile reports and maintain records.
Maintain the quality-related specifications, procedures and work instructions via the engineering change order (ECO) process, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement
Perform document control review of all engineering change orders (ECOs).
Manage the Internal Audit process- perform, track, coordinate, and keep records of internal audits and associated opportunities for improvement (OFIs) and non-conformances.
Initiate and lead continuous-improvement projects.
Manage to closure the customer return/RMA process.
Bachelor’s degree (preferably an Engineering major) or equivalent work experience.
Proven track record with a minimum of 4 years of experience in relevant field. Experience with product reliability in the semiconductor or automotive industry is preferred.
Broad technical knowledge of semiconductor technologies, products and manufacturing processes.
Experience with ISO 9001 or IATF16949.
Experience in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar productivity software.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize the workload, proactively address problems and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills, team-oriented, collaborative and a willingness to learn.
Ability to travel to suppliers, subcontractors, and customers (up to 10%) required (domestic and international).
